Officers respond to a man threatening to burn down his House

 

 

Early Saturday morning, Sheriff Mick Epperly along with Deputies Myers and Adcock responded to FR 1240 in Shell Knob to a man making threats to burn down his house and another person’s house. Officers were given information that the person making the threats might be under the influence of methamphetamines.  When officers arrived they observed a big fire in the driveway and women’s clothing scattered all over the yard, they also noticed that the tires on a jeep sitting the driveway were also all flattened, the front door of the house was standing wide open.  Officer Adcock and Myers went to the side exits of the house while Sheriff Epperly approached the front of the house.  Sheriff Epperly noticed a male subject lying on the couch asleep. he contacted the other officers to assist him, they entered the front of the house and placed the suspect into custody without incident.  Arrested was 24 year old Tony James Tipton of Shell Knob,Mo.  Officers received consent to search from the female living at the residence, their search turned up a glass pipe on Tipton’s person and a baggie consistent with methamphetamine.  Tipton is already on probation for controlled substance.  Officer Myers photographed the scene and Mr. Tipton was transported the Barry County Jail where he has been charged with a class c felony of possession of a controlled with bond set at 20,000 cash only,
