Cody Oplinger

S'Jara Wallace

On 10/4/15, Deputy Hutson with the Barry County Sheriff's Office was on Farm Road 2140 in

Wheaton when he spotted a 2001 GMC Yukon being driven by 25 year old Cody Oplinger of

Seligman, MO.  Deputy Hutson recognized Oplinger and his female passenger 21 year old S'Jara

Wallace of Cassville, MO as both having active probation violation warrants.  Deputy Hutson

activated his lights and siren to stop Oplinger. Oplinger then took off in an effort to get away

from Deputy Hutson.  After a short pursuit, Oplinger 's vehicle struck a tree at the intersection

of Farm Road 2142 and 1040.  Oplinger and Wallace then fled on foot.  Wallace was taken into

custody 200 yards from the scene and Oplinger was found a short while later hiding around a

nearby barn.  After being arrested Oplinger told deputies that he had drugs in the vehicle.

Oplinger and Wallace were arrested on their probation violation warrants and transported to the

Barry County Jail.  Both have no bond on those warrants.  Deputy Hutson will be asking for

charges of Felony Resisting Arrest, Fleeing an Emergency Vehicle and Possession of a controlled

substance on Cody Oplinger and Felony Resisting Arrest and Possession of a controlled substance

charges on S'Jara Wallace.
