Deputies recover stolen property including C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue Burglary items

On Tuesday, December 26, 2017, The Barry County Sheriff's Office received a tip regarding the location of items that were stolen from the C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue on December 17th and December 20th.  The tip led Barry County Deputies to an apartment located in Marionville, Missouri.  The Barry County Sheriff's Office along with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office and the Aurora Police Department conducted a search warrant at the apartment and located occupants in the apartment.  Several pieces of stolen property from multiple jurisdictions were also located in the apartment and in the back yard.  Jacob Metz, who lived in the apartment was arrested by the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office and is in the Lawrence County Jail with a $100,000.00 bond for Receiving Stolen Property.  Several items were returned to the C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue including a four wheeler, saddles and several tools.
